Nearly 200 countries attending the UN climate summit, COP28, agreed to a deal that, for the first time, calls on all nations to abandon fossil fuels to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
The rich countries most responsible for the climate emergency promehave – so far – a combined total of just over $700 million for the loss and damage fund – equivalent to less than 0,2% of the irreversible economic and non-economic losses that developing countries suffer as they face the effects of global warming every year.
