Figure 02 uses artificial intelligence (IA) of OpenAI for speech-to-speech reasoning, allowing the humanoid robot to have full conversations with humans. A Visual Language Model (VLM) allows the robot tome make quick, common-sense decisions based on visual input and automatically correct errors.

With six RGB cameras, the robot has 360-degree vision to navigate the real world. The robot is 1,68 m tall, weighs 60 kg, has the capacity to lift 20 kg and has an autonomy of 20 hours thanks to a customized 2,25 kWh battery.

The race for humanoid robots is intensifying, with Figure CEO Brett Adcock claiming that Figure 02 is the “most advanced humanoid on the planet,” a direct challenge to Elon Musk and his Tesla Optimus. While the world awaits Elon's response, Figure has an ace up its sleeve: its partnership with OpenAI.
