Meta announced last Monday (23) its newest entertainment partnership for its virtual reality platform. Now, on Meta Horizon Worlds and Xtadium, basketball lovers will be able to watch more than 50 NBA and WNBA games on VR Quest glasses. Broadcasts will be delivered in 180-degree immersive VR.
with the platform promehaving a unique transmission quality, In an immersive 180-degree environment and video quality of up to 8K, sports enthusiasts will be able to get together with friends and check out matches and statistics in real time, as well as highlights and replays.
In addition to interactions within matches, NBA fans will also have minigames available and will be able to purchase basketball team uniforms to use on their avatars. The clothes, available at the Meta Avatar Store, can be used inside and outside the virtual reality platform, such as on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.
NBA and WNBA VR broadcasts are only available in the United States. Meta Horizon Worlds can only be accessed by users over the age of 18 in the US, Canada, UK, Iceland, Ireland, France and Spain.
