  • A OpenAI had scheduled an event to share updates and product demonstrations this Thursday (09/05), but postponed it until Monday.
  • The exact focus of the event has not been disclosed, but recent rumors suggest that the OpenAI is developing a search engine to rival the Google and Perplexity.
  • The postponement may also be related to “tougher competition” in the Microsoft, a close partner of OpenAI, which is reportedly also training its own large in-house AI model called MAI-1.
  • A OpenAI has been active in the media recently, with Brad Lightcap declaring that current technology will be “laughably bad” within a year and Sam Altman calling GPT-4 “slightly embarrassing.”

As the world awaits the next big reveal of OpenAI, it looks like the company is going to keep us waiting a little longer. Despite speculation about announcements from Microsoft e Apple as the cause of the postponement, the confident comments of the OpenAI do not suggest a company very concerned about competition.
