We recently reported on Newsverso that Nike became a hit on social media after the release of its commercial for the World Cup, using metaverse devices to bring a challenge between legends from the past and present of world football. However, the company's plans are even more ambitious for this new ecosystem, starting with Web 3.0. Targeting the metaverse and the digital fashion market, the North American company announced .SWOOSH, a Nike branch, through a marketplace focused on the creation and trading of NFTs.
On the 14th of this month, through an official statement, the North American company announced the launch of .SWOOSH, an initiative designed by Nike Virtual Studios, led by the company's vice president, Ron Fari. The announcement came shortly after the on-chain data platform Dune Analytics reveal that Nike has become the world leader in NFT sales among major brands.

According to the data, the Nike has already earned an amount of US$ 185 million in the non-fungible token market. To get an idea of the brand's protagonism, second place, Dolce and Gabbana, earned around US$25 million in NFT sales.
With .SWOOSH, the company hopes to bring together creators, collectors and athletes in the same virtual environment, all with the aim of developing new products and negotiating pieces. In the official announcement, Fari commented that the idea is for the community to benefit from the space:
“We are shaping a marketplace of the future with an accessible platform for the Web3 curious. In this new space, the .SWOOSH community and Nike can create, share and benefit together.”
The start of the NFT platform is scheduled for 2023. The official launch of .SWOOSH will be a challenge between co-creators who will be able to receive royalties from the products. Currently the environment is available in format beta, but it is not yet possible to access it in Brazil.
