Suspense, investigation and true crimes. This could be the perfect formula to create a good film, right? However, don't be fooled! We are talking about podcasts that rely on this combination to engage the public. We've selected five productions for those who want to dive head first into this genre - I'll tell you: it's addictive.

1. Modus Operandi

It is impossible to start this list without mentioning the work of Carol Moreira and Marina Bonafé, known as Mabê. They run the podcast that provides details and reflections on each story. Everything is very well explained, with medical, police and even court reports. They don't leave a loose end.

And for those who like scary stories involving paranormal events, the duo also tells stories experienced by listeners.

2. Human Project: The Evandro Case

The program tells several stories about crimes committed in Brazil. However, the best-known season is about The Evandro Case, which even became series on Globoplay.

In the 90s, a 6-year-old boy disappears. A few days later, his body is found after suffering several mutilations. The main theory at the time was that he was the victim of a satanic ritual.

3. Praia dos Ossos

The murder of model and socialite Ângela Diniz stopped the country in the 1970s. She was killed by her boyfriend Doca Street, with four shots, at Praia dos Ossos, in Búzios, in 1976.

In Rádio Novelo's production, it is possible to follow the detailed reconstruction of the crime.

4. Café com Crime

The list wouldn't be complete without the first Brazilian podcast about true crimes. In each episode, details of a famous case that occurred in the country are told. The last episode, for example, was about the murder of Daniella Perez, which became a topic again after the controversial documentary produced by HBO Max.

5. Mysterious Farm

As the name suggests, episodes are released every Thursday with stories of real crimes that happened around the world. The production is part of a series of videos shared on presenter Jaqueline Guerreiro's YouTube channel.
