Silvio Santos wins series on Star+; check out other biographical productions of Brazilian personalities

This week, the series inspired by the life of Silvio Santos arrived in the Star+ catalog. In addition to this production, other films, series and biographical documentaries about Brazilian personalities are available on streaming services. Check out some of them selected by Curto.

'The King of TV'

The eight-episode series premiered last Wednesday (19) on Star+ and portrays the life and career of Silvio Santos. The presenter is played by actors José Rubens Chachá, Guilherme Reis and Mariaat Mattos Martins.

'Tim Maia'

The artist's biographical work was shown in Brazilian cinemas in 2014. Tim Maya, who immortalized his voice in the classic songs 'Azul da Cor do Mar' and 'Primavera', is performed by Robson Nunes and Babu Santana. The film also features Alinne Moraes and Cauã Reymond in the cast. Watch on Netflix.

'Elis'

Still in the musical sense, another production that showcases one of the greatest Brazilian artists is 'Elis'. Actress Andréia Horta is the one who gives life to Elis the Queen in the 2016 feature film, available on Netflix. In addition to her musical career, the film also shows her relationship with Ronaldo Bôscoli and details of her personal life – marked by ups and downs.

'Getulio'

Getulio Vargas is portrayed in the 2014 Brazilian film, which covers the last 19 days of the former president's life. During this period, he was isolated in the Catete palace, in the south of Rio, while he was accused by opponents of being the mastermind behind the attack on journalist Carlos Lacerda, his political enemy. Tony Ramos plays the protagonist and Drica Moraes plays his daughter, Alzira Vargas. Watch on Netflix.

'Hebe'

In ten episodes, the TV miniseries launched by Globoplay tells the story of Hebe Camargo. The presenter is played by actress Andréa Beltrão. 

'2 Sons of Francisco'

A huge box office phenomenon, '2 Filhos de Francisco' is a film based on the life and story of the country duo Zezé di Camargo and Luciano. The 2005 film is available on Globoplay.

'Chorão: Winged Marginal'

crybaby, leader of the Charlie Brown Jr., won a documentary that covers his trajectory in national rock. The artist passed away in 2013, victim of an overdose. The production features interviews with Chorão’s family and friends. Watch on Netflix.
