Presidential candidates face off in last TV debate before the election

This Thursday (29), candidates for President of the Republic will face each other in the last presidential debate before the elections on Sunday, October 2nd. Promoted by Globo, the clash takes place at the broadcaster's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, and will be broadcast from 22:30 pm.

After 45 days of campaigning, since the official start on August 16th, trips around the country and participation in interviews and pools carried out by the main press vehicles, this will be the last chance that the main candidates will have to discuss and present their government plans in an open TV event before the end of the first round.

Analysis: Second debate should not have moved the needle; the last one could be decisive, in a tense week

The debate held this Saturday (24) between the main presidential candidates does not seem to have had a relevant impact on voting intentions, like the first event. As polls indicate a concrete possibility of the election being closed in the first round, it remains to be seen whether Lula's absence may have had any effect.
