São Paulo

Independence Park

Free megashow: On a stage set up in front of the new Ipiranga Museum, around 250 artists will participate in the 2-hour presentation in celebration of September 7th. Look the complete schedule and some highlights:

The celebrations in the capital of São Paulo will feature more than 50 activities in more than 200 points, which are part of the “Voices of Independence Project” organizado pela Secretaria Municipal de Cultural. (G1)

On the 7th, the visit of the Ipiranga museum it will only be open to schools and workers who participated in the restoration work and their families. On September 8th, visits to the museum will reopen to the general public through online appointments. (Estadão)

Afro Museum

September 7rd to December 11st: Exhibition “São Paulo, 1822 – Bahia, 1823: dates of Independence”, at the Afro Brasil Museum, about two processes of Brazilian independence: the one proclaimed, in 1822, in São Paulo, and the one that only came to an end in 1823, in Bahia.

Rio de Janeiro

Independence New Year's Eve

Between September 6th and 7th: The 24-hour party starts at 17pm on Friday (6) and takes place at Quinta da Boavista. The event is part of a series of commemorative actions organized by Rio de Janeiro City Hall for the Bicentenary.

Shows, theater, exhibitions, artistic, cultural and gastronomic activities will occupy the park, which will undergo renovation and revitalization, according to authorities.

Music at the Museum

Every Wednesday in September: On September 7th, the Music at the Museum open one special edition celebrating the Bicentennial. The project aims to encourage concert music and takes place at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center and other cultural facilities in the capital of Rio.

Brasilia

Xamã, Kevin O Chris, Froid and several other artists are in the line-up at the event, which takes place at Prainha da ASBAC, in the Federal District.

Living Museum in the City

The project brings together cultural and educational actions to preserve Brazilian memory and promotes a free civic parade and dance. On September 7th, the “Freedom Parade for Equality” will feature 15 characters who will parade in the corridor from Vitória to Praça Castro Alves.

Belo Horizonte

International Choir Festival (FIC)

19h30: Na Duque de Caxias square, in Santa Teresa, The opening of the festival takes place, which promotes more than 50 free performances in Minas Gerais. O FIC 2022 theme will be “Freedom”, in honor of the bicentenary of Brazilian Independence. The edition also pays homage to Clube da Esquina’s 50th anniversary.
