Fourteen people died this Saturday (16) in the crash of a plane trying to land in the municipality of Barcelos, Amazonas, authorities reported.

Twelve passengers and two crew members died in the accident, Lima published on X, formerly Twitter. According to the press, there were no survivors.
The device had left Manaus bound for Barcelos efaria a 90 minute flight. The first investigations indicate that the passengers were Brazilians who were going to practice sport fishing.
The plane was an Embraer twin-engine turboprop, with capacity for 18 passengers.
Located on the Rio Negro, a tributary of the Amazon, the city is surrounded by natural parks and environmental protection areas.
Authorities reported that two planes that approached Barcelos at the same time returned to Manaus due to weather conditions.
The Air Force and police will investigate the accident, according to the local government, which added that many details remain unclear.
According to initial reports, it was believed that American citizens were traveling on the plane, but Amazonian authorities confirmed that, according to preliminary investigations, all of the victims were Brazilian.
