Chilean midfielder Erick Pulgar, 28, was announced as Flamengo's new reinforcement, a signing that divides opinions among Brazil's biggest fans.
The Chilean was a player for Fiorentina in Italy, who loaned him to Galatasaray in Turkey at the beginning of the year.
Before going to Europe, he played for Universidad Católica and Deportivo Antofagasta, both in Chile.
The arrival of the midfielder divides opinions among the biggest fans in Brazil.
Some red and black people uploaded the hashtag #PulgarNão on social media, due to the controversial cases involving the player. Others approved the hiring.
In January 2013, Pulgar ran over a 65-year-old man and did not provide assistance. The man ended up dying in the hospital. The player did not have a driving license and was convicted in 2014, although he did not serve a prison sentence.
At the end of June this year, the Chilean Public Ministry announced that it was investigating the complaint of a 24-year-old woman who declared that she had suffered sexual assault during a party at the player's house in Santiago.
Pulgar then denied being involved “in any type of complaint or crime” and stated that he gave a statement as a “witness” because he owned the property.
