Comedian reacts to robbery and is attacked in MG

Comedian Gustavo Mendes, known for imitating former president Dilma Rousseff, received stitches in his head after being attacked during an attempted robbery in the early hours of yesterday (05) in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais.

“It was around 2 am, I was on Avenida Independência in a bar and leaving there I was attacked by two men and a woman […] They attacked me and tomei points on the head. It still hurts a lot,” she said.

On Instagram, the comedian posted a video talking about the attacks and complaining about insecurity in the city of Juiz de Fora:

According to the Military Police, the criminals approached the comedian and pretended to have weapons. Gustavo Mendes realized that the criminals were not armed and refused to hand over his cell phone. At that moment, one of them picked up a stone and threw it towards the comedian's head.

In the last elections, Gustavo Mendes was federal deputy for the PT and received 18,634 votes, but was unable to be elected.
