Since last Sunday (7), Leandro Lo's name has been in evidence on news portals, in addition to becoming one of the most talked about topics on social media. The death of the jiu-jitsu world champion moved followers and lovers of the sport. And those who didn't know the athlete are now looking for more information about him.

Fighter

Lo was from São Paulo and started training jiu-jitsu when he was 14 years old.

He was an eight-time jiu-jitsu world champion in five different categories, won five World Cups in the sport and also won eight Pan American Championships in the sport. He had 268 wins and 39 losses. On social media, Lo announced that he would competearia a championship in Austin, USA, next Friday (12).

The impeccable posture was not only technical, but also sporting. In 2018, his opponent gave up the title because Lo was unable to fight. In the following edition, the two met again in the final phase and, in retribution, Lo gave up fighting in the final so that his opponent could win the title.

Murder

Jiu-jitsu world champion Leandro Lo, aged 33, died last Sunday (7) after being shot during an event in São Paulo. The person who fired the weapon was military police officer Henrique Otávio Oliveira Velozo.

The military policeman

Henrique Otávio Oliveira Velozo shot Leandro Lo at a show that took place last Saturday. Velozo had already been convicted by the São Paulo Military Court for attacking and disrespecting other PMs in 2017, in a nightclub. In both cases, Velozo was off duty and without a police uniform.
