“The decision to cull it was made based on a global assessment of the threat it posed to human security,” Frank Bakke-Jensen, head of the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, said in a statement.

The Norwegian government announced this Sunday (14) that it had decided to sacrifice the walrus known as Freya, which had been an attraction since July in the Oslo fjord – where it spent its time sunbathing on boats.

Do you know what a walrus is?

Belonging to the same family as seals, the walrus is a mammal found in the icy seas of the Arctic, Europe, Asia and North America. However, there is a certain difference, as the walrus has larger upper teeth on the outside of the mouth, that is, the tusks.
