The German consul accused of the death of her husband, with whom she lived for 20 years, is considered a fugitive on the Interpol list. According to police information, the cause of death was “severe beating”.
The Rio de Janeiro Court ordered this Monday (29), that the representative of Germany in Brazil, who was accused of killing her husband, be included on the Interpol fugitive list, one day after the diplomat embarked for his country .
The complaint came from the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro and the State Court of Justice accepted it, ordering the preventive arrest of the German consul Uwe Herbert Hahn, accused of the death of her husband, the Belgian Walter Henri Maximilien Biot, on August 5th.
“The consul’s name was included on Interpol’s list of fugitives, as the accused left for Germany on Sunday,” the Rio de Janeiro State Court of Justice (TJRJ) said in a statement.
The consul was arrested on August 6 and had habeas corpus granted last week, but the judge responsible said that the MP missed the deadline to present the complaint; the Public Ministry denies it.
The couple stayed together for 20 years and, according to the investigation, Biot was murdered in the penthouse where the couple lived, in the Ipanema neighborhood, in the south zone of Rio. The expert concluded that Biot was the victim of a “severe beating”.
