Thiago Brennand: businessman arrested in the United Arab Emirates

Businessman Thiago Brennand was arrested by Interpol last Thursday (13). He had been on the run since September, when he became a defendant for assault after appearing in a video attacking a model at a gym in São Paulo.

Brennand was arrested on Thursday in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, at 14 pm (21 pm Brasília time). The businessman's arrest was ordered due to his failure to deliver his passport by September 23rd.

According to the delegate responsible, the Federal Police will take care of the businessman's arrival in Brazil. “We are still talking to the PF to find out what this process will be like, as the wanted person was detained in another country,” she explained.

Court orders preventive detention of Thiago Brennand for assault

The judge of the 6th Criminal Court of São Paulo, Erika Soares de Azevedo Mascarenhas, ordered the preventive detention of businessman Thiago Antonio Brennand Tavares da Sila Fernandes Vieira. By last Friday (23) he should have handed over his passport to the court and confirmed his return to Brazil. He traveled to Dubai on the 4th and his whereabouts, until then, are unknown.
