Did you think funk was only successful in Brazil? You thought it was wrong! The hit 'Tubarão te Amo', which already had choreography and everything, is even popular on Spotify. The song entered the Viral 50 in the United States, the platform's playlist that compiles the hits that have been trending in the country in recent days.
Another proof that the 'Shark I Love You' broke the Brazilian bubble is in TikTok. When searching for music, we come across thousands of videos from foreign users listening to the funk hit, which has almost 270 videos on the platform.
It also went viral during the World Cup, when influencer Cristian Bell published a kind of “dance battle” in Qatar. The video was a huge success and has more than 28 million views on Instagram.
The hit is by DJ LK from Scotland with MC Ryan SP, MC Daniel, MC Jhenny and MC RF. In reality, the song is a reinterpretation of the axé classic 'Olha a Onda', by the group Tchakabum.
On Spotify, 'Tubarão Te Amo' has over 30 million plays. Check out the songs that are on Viral 50 USA:
