"When you join a broadcast channel, you can read and react to messages, as well as vote in polls sent by content creators. If a creator you follow starts a broadcast and sends the first message, you'll receive a notification.

To join a broadcast channel, tap the notification and tap Join. Once you join a broadcast channel, you can see messages in your inbox. You can also invite others to join by sharing an invite link to the channel” – explains the note published on the Instagram help page.

“We are starting to launch Instagram Channels – a new broadcast feature. I'm starting this channel to share news and updates about all the products and technology we're building at Meta. This will be the place where I share Meta news first,” Zuckerberg explained in his Instagram stories.

The CEO also highlights that the new feature will also be suitable for Facebook and Messenger.
