Only 28% of company leaders are prepared for AI regulation, research shows

A recent study led by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) revealed that only 28% of global leaders are fully prepared for future laws and regulations related to artificial intelligence. This highlights the challenges companies face when adopting or ignoring this emerging technology.

BCG emphasizes the importance of responsible implementation of AI through responsible artificial intelligence (RAI) programs. These programs aim to ensure the ethical use of technology, considering its impacts on business and people, in addition to facilitating system governance.

The report also points out that implementing a RAI program requires effort and withprometime, with engaged leadership and a multidisciplinary team involving different areas of the company, such as business, legal, human resources, technology and marketing.

The executive director of the company responsible for the research, Henrique Sinatura, says that “a responsible AI program must be seen as an innovation mechanism, which improves technology performance and establishes improvement and review cycles, which help prevent failures when raise concerns involving technology. Companies that understand this concept and treat regulations as an opportunity, rather than an obstacle, can stand out in the market.”
