Last week, in an interview with The Washington Post, TM Roh, Head of Mobile Experiences Business at Samsung, said that the company is already producing its own virtual reality device. To The Washington Post, Roh commented on the delay of Samsung in the fight for this specific VR market. Taking the Asian market into account, other major players in the sector have been exploring the metaverse for some time, such as LG and Sony. For the executive:

“Many different companies have been making these announcements about different realities, so we have also been making similar preparations, no less than anyone else. A Samsung it delayed its market share because the market was not yet ready and other similar devices launched by competitors did not have the expected success”, he added.

Trying to give confidence about what the device will be like Samsung, Roh said the headset will be designed to perform better in virtual reality applications and will use an operating system developed by Google and powered by a Qualcomm chip.
