In addition to funding, nonprofits in the six-week accelerator program will have access to technical training, workshops, mentors and guidance from an “AI coach.”

And, through the scholarship program of Google.org, staff teams Google will work with three of the nonprofits – Tarjimly, Benefits Data Trust and mRelief – full-time for up to six months to help launch the proposed generative AI tools.

Tarjimly intends to use the artificial intelligence to translate languages to refugees, while Benefits Data Trust is turning to AI to create assistants that support case workers by helping low-income applicants apply for public benefits. Already, mRelief is designing a tool to streamline the process of applying for US SNAP benefits.
