HSBC applies for trademark registration in the United States to provide financial services in the metaverse

In the current era of the internet, much is still speculation, however, big names and companies continue to attack by investing in web3. On December 15th, the British bank HSBC, which already invests in The Sandbox metaverse, registered its trademarks for web3 and metaverse with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

With the registration, the bank's objective is to develop virtual goods such as bank cards, cash cards, checks and NFTs in general for use in online virtual worlds.

In the race for the lead in the metaverse, the HSBC It also wants to host an online portal providing financial information for data security services and online communities for digital assets, in addition to trading tokens. 

According to the North American patent lawyer who maps the arrival of brands on web3, Mike Kondoudis, the entity requested registration on December 15th, and aims to offer financial consultancy for the metaverse. 

Recently, some other brands like BMW and Mercedes arrived in the North American market trying to print their brands for web3.0 and metaverse.
