Microsoft announces billion-dollar investment in cloud and AI in Indonesia

A Microsoft will invest US$1,7 billion over the next four years to expand its cloud services and artificial intelligence (IA) in Indonesia. This includes building data centers, announced CEO Satya Nadella on Tuesday (30).

Nadella met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and his ministers on Tuesday to discuss joint AI research and talent development, Communications Minister Budi Arie Setiadi told reporters.

Widodo suggested that the Microsoft install your data centers in the Bali resort or in the new capital Nusantara, still under construction in the Borneo jungle, according to the minister.
