“Nothing happens by chance,” said Lula. “I always thought we would win the elections and we will. This for us is just an extension,” she added. “4 years ago I was a human being thrown out of politics,” recalled Lula, referring to prison.

“We need to recover this country,” he said. “Unfortunately for some, I have 30 more days to campaign. I love holding rallies, discussing with society”, provoked the PT member. Lula also poked President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). “Let's see if he will continue lying. Let’s make comparisons about the Brazil he built and what we built.”

Lula also said that from Monday (3) he will have a campaign, with more rallies, more debates. “We will have to convince Brazilian society about what we are proposing. The fight continues until final victory, that is our motto.”

“São Paulo will be a great clash of national and state ideas,” said Lula, regarding Fernando Haddad's departure for the second round of the elections in the state of São Paulo. The former president did not mention the fact that Haddad was overtaken by Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) who supports Jair Bolsonaro (PL). “The two of us (Lula and Haddad) together will win São Paulo and Brazil”, concluded Lula.

Jair Bolsonaro (PL)

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) answered questions from journalists at the end of the night. He said that the election results had demoralized polling institutes, which did not show as expressive a percentage of votes as those recorded at the polls. “I don’t think they will continue doing research, it’s not possible,” he said.

“The message is that Brazil, taking into account the vast majority of other countries in the world, is the one that did best, is doing well in terms of the economy. Perhaps, [we] will have to better show the issue of the economy as well. Brazil purchased 500 million doses for those who felt they had a duty to get vaccinated,” said Bolsonaro.
