Claudia had been undergoing radiotherapy treatment for many years to combat cancer in the thoracic region. This treatment had weakened her heart and so she underwent several heart surgeries.

After starting her career in the 70s, in the series Malu Mulher, Cláudia worked in theater, soap operas and comedy programs. She became famous when she acted with comedian Chico Anysio in Escolinha do Professor Raimundo, in the role of Cacilda.
