In the two decades of its existence, the fair has honored several national writers, such as Clarice Lispector, Machado de Assis, Guimarães Rosa and many others... But you don't need to be a historical character to be among those honored, you know? In this edition, Maria Firmina dos Reis, considered the first black novelist in Brazil, is honored.

The description of the party states that “Flip condenses a double singularity: it differentiates itself from other parties and literary festivals, in the same way that, by incorporating itself into the intense calendar of popular celebrations in Paraty, it reaffirms its connection with the territory of which emerges.”

The artist Lázaro Ramos will be present at this year's Flip and will launch the book “Você Não É Invisível”, this Saturday (26) during the “Palavra Livre” panel, alongside Alice Neto de Sousa and Midria, mediated by an event that Anabela Mota Ribeiro. Tickets sold out quickly.

The book tells the story of brothers Carlos and Sofia, who are isolated during the pandemic and live with their father, who needs to work during the health crisis. On the one hand, the boy reveals the situation he is experiencing through social media and recorded audio, and on the other, his sister writes.

The work was dedicated to Conceição Evaristo and addresses issues of self-esteem, ethics, identity and the importance of communication. A good reading tip!
