The history of Brazil told in the drains of Rio; video went viral on social media

Thiago Süssekind, from Rio de Janeiro, not only noticed it, but also filmed it and looked for the history of each of the acronyms he found stamped on the metal. Some structures are centuries old and tell a good part of Brazil's history. Follow the 🧵!

“Rio de Janeiro’s sewers reflect the city’s political and technological transformations. Some are very old, and have a lot of history too. A video in honor of my friends who saw me filming a manhole in the middle of the street over the last few months”, explains Thiago, law student, teacher, social activist (Climate Reality at the Climate Reality Project and Believe – RJ)
