ANALYSIS: first presidential debate does not appear to have been relevant to changing the election route

The next research will show. But the first debate for the presidential election, held on Sunday night, does not seem to have been relevant to changing the position of the poll leaders, Lula (PT) and Bolsonaro (PL). Yes, it may have had some relevant positive impact for Simone Tebet (MDB) and brought Soraya Thronicke (União Brasil) to light. Read on Curto it is strong.

Jair Bolsonaro was Bolsonaro. Aggressive, loudmouth, he attacked journalist Vera Magalhães in a cowardly and unacceptable way. It should result in a lot of work for fake news checking agencies this Monday (29).

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) continues to be unable to deal with accusations of corruption during the PT governments. He avoided them when they appeared, trying to highlight the achievements, in his opinion, of his period as Presidency of the Republic. Perhaps because he maintained a good lead in the polls, he adopted a discreet stance. Again, future research will show whether this attitude had the desired effect.

Ciro Gomes (PDT) maintained his attempt to be the most proactive candidate. He managed to do it, but the aggressive Ciro reappeared, talking mainly about Lula.

In this context, the two candidates, Simone Tebet and Soraya Thronicke, perhaps managed to differentiate themselves, although far from any revealing brilliance. Luiz Felipe d'Avila (Novo) maintained an Olympic posture, without attacks, trying to stand out from the rest of the group, but without the shake that is perhaps essential in a campaign of this scale.

Just a warm start.

Hot was just behind the scenes, with two characters behaving as a bad example for everyone who wants to prevent aggression between opponents tome on the streets, resulting in violence.

In terms of Brazil, its future as a nation, so lacking in solutions, in a world where the issue of sustainability is crucial and urgent, overall the event was just another disappointment.

This first debate was held by Band, Folha de S.Paulo, TV Cultura and UOL
