According to Anvisa, the preventive measure was taken after carrying out a health inspection at the São Paulo factory, in which they were identified serious failures of good manufacturing practices related to hygiene, quality control and safety of raw materials, pest control, traceability, among others. These failures can impact the quality and safety of the final product, points out the surveillance body.

“Expired food, including its raw materials, is considered unfit for consumption, according to the Consumer Protection Code, and its exposure for sale or consumption is considered a health violation. Therefore, the food recall aims to remove products from the market that pose a risk or harm to the health of the consumer”, informs Anvisa.
The suspension of marketing and distribution will only apply to products in stock at the company. The return of activities can only occur when the company adapts the manufacturing process of its products to the good manufacturing practices defined by Anvisa.

In a statement, the company stated that the factory inspected has already changed the indicated internal processes and procedures.
“Following our transparent and respectful style for consumers, we will make the following clarification regarding the incorrect information that has been disseminated through social media. We went through an inspection process at one of our factories, in the city of Monte Alto – SP, which generated an order to change some internal processes and procedures, we respected and quickly changed the indicated points. It is important to highlight that there is no batch with recall and the commercialization and consumption of our products continues normally, at retail points of sale”, stated the company.
