The video questionado shows hooded figures performing a supposed “satanic ritual” with a photo of Lula in the center. The Court has already ordered the deletion of similar publications that associated Lula with the sect.

“The opposing candidacy has been affirming and seeking to bring religion to the center of the political debate. Using the social repulsion that all Christians have towards the figure of the devil and Satanists, the profile tries to instill the idea that Satanists/Luciferians would support – as well as perform rituals – in favor of the candidate Lula da Silva”, say the lawyers in action. Electoral courts begin lottery of ballot boxes to test integrity

Starting at 27 am this Saturday (9), the 29 regional electoral courts (TREs) will draw the 671 electronic voting machines that will be subjected to the integrity test. The equipment began to be distributed to polling stations yesterday (28).

The selected ballot boxes will be transported to the locations where the test will be carried out in each state. New ballot boxes will be placed in place of those taken for the audit.

This test has been carried out in all elections since 2002. The objective is to check whether the ballot boxes correctly compute the votes cast. To do this, Electoral Court employees simulate a normal vote and enter previously filled paper votes into the ballot box. At the same time, paper votes are deposited in a box. Then, the results are compared.

The procedure, filmed and monitored by election monitoring entities, such as political parties and the Armed Forces, was also carried out in the first round. This year, part of the audit was carried out using biometrics from volunteer voters to activate the ballot box. The project piloto, adopted at the suggestion of the military, included 56 ballot boxes. The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) reported that the test was “100% successful” and found no discrepancies. Military personnel complain about the TSE and talk about a technical gap in inspecting ballot boxes (UOL)

The military believes that the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) did not make efforts to ensure that the number of volunteers for the biometrics test was higher and this could create a “technical gap”, which would make the correct evaluation of the test unfeasible. The military also complains that the Electoral Court did not carry out campaigns encouraging voters to participate.

Even so, the Defense said it will not appeal the TSE's decision.

The Defense proposals were the subject of a conversation between General Paulo Sérgio and Alexandre de Moraes last week, who also discussed the military's “continuing supervision” of the electoral system.

The general complained about the low participation in biometrics tests, and that this needed to be improved. Moraes asked the TSE for a formal request, which was done this week. After the evaluation, however, Moraes stated that he will analyze the suggestions “as soon as this Superior Court receives the final report from the Armed Forces on the matter” – that report on the suitability of the electoral process, which the military should have delivered shortly after the first round.

Bolsonaro summons press and should go after Alexandre de Moraes. (Look)

Moraes, who presides over the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), had rejected the request of President Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) campaign to suspend the airing of ex-president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's (PT) insertions on the grounds that radio stations stopped airing at least 730 commercials from his campaign.

Shortly after the court decision, Bolsonaro summoned his closest ministers and military personnel to an emergency meeting at Palácio da Alvorada and an overnight press conference. (AFP)

'Affront' to electoral legislation

According to Moraes, the action 'affronts' electoral law by assuming fraud without presenting 'any minimum indication of evidence'. The minister declared that Bolsonaro's campaign pointed out “an alleged electoral fraud on the eve of the second round of the election, without a credible documentary basis, and therefore absent any minimal evidence of evidence in clear violation of the electoral law”. In capital letters, the minister wrote: “IN FACE OF SUCH SCREAMING DISCREPANIES, THIS DATA COULD NEVER BE CALLED 'PROOF' OR 'AUDIT'”.

As radios that were highlighted in action by Bolsonaro’s (PL) campaign denied allegations regarding the dissemination of materials, Jornal Nacional and AFP found out this Wednesday (26).

Regarding the document presented by the campaign to prove allegations, Moraes stated:

“It is also surprising that the examination of the files gathered by the authors did not extract the data indicated as capable of supporting the reasons presented. Contrary to this, only spreadsheets are found, strictly speaking sparse, with random and partial data, which make it impossible to reach the conclusion supported by the applicants”.

19h

The president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Alexandre de Moraes, rejected Bolsonaro's request about radios and points to 'electoral crime' to disrupt the 2nd round

For Moraes, the data presented by the campaign on supposed irregularities are inconsistent. Still, in the same decision, Moraes:

  • calls on the Electoral Attorney General, Augusto Aras, to investigate “possible commission of an electoral crime with the purpose of disrupting the second round of the election” by Bolsonaro’s campaign;
  • calls the General Electoral Inspectorate to investigate any misuse of purpose in the use of the Party Fund to contract the supposed audit;
  • determines that the case be sent to the Federal Supreme Court (STF), as part of the investigation that investigates the actions of a “digital militia” that threatens democracy.

TSE says that server was dismissed on suspicion of moral harassment and that he gave a statement to the PF with 'false and lying' statements

In note, the Court said that:

“The Superior Electoral Court informs that the dismissal of the civil servant Alexandre Gomes Machado who held the position on the Advisory Committee of Trust (CJ-1) of the Judiciary Secretariat was motivated by indications of repeated practices of moral harassment, including politically motivated ones, which will be duly investigated.

The reaction of the aforementioned public servant was clearly an attempt to avoid his possible and future liability in an administrative proceeding that will be immediately initiated.

The allegations made by the server in testimony before the Federal Police are false and criminal and will also be held responsible.

Contrary to what was stated in the statement, the immediate supervisor of the server clarifies that there was never any information from the server that “since 2018, it has repeatedly informed the TSE that there are oversight and monitoring failures in the dissemination of free electoral propaganda insertions” .

Incentive for preservation: Lula says it is necessary to create a compensation policy for those who preserve forests

Presidential candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated this Wednesday (26) that, if elected, he will create a compensation policy to guarantee the forest preservation and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. He, however, did not detail how the mechanism would work in practice.

Lula defends taxation of large fortunes, but says that the majority of Congress is opposed

Questioned this Wednesday morning (26), if “the time has come” to tax large fortunes and banks, the PT presidential candidate stated that “the time has come, it is always the time”. He considered, however, that despite being a supporter of the measure, the majority of the National Congress is opposed to the approval of the taxation.

“The problem is that you have a majority of the National Congress that doesn’t want it. Especially because the majority that are in the National Congress are people who have some means of possessions, it is not the poor who are in the National Congress”, stated the former president during an interview with Radio Mix from Manaus.

“These people don't want to tax their own resources, when in fact we need to make people understand that paying income tax correctly means doing justice in this country”, continued Lula, when defending a progressive tax policy, in which the rich pay more and the poor, less so. (Estadão Content)

Lula says he will need to talk to MDB about nominating Tebet for ministry

PT's presidential candidate, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, stated this Wednesday morning (26), that, if elected, he will need to talk to the MDB about appointing Senator Simone Tebet (MDB) for a possible ministry. Despite praising Tebet's performance, the former president reinforced that he cannot anticipate who would be appointed to form a new government.

“Simone, although she is supporting me, is an important political figure, a competent woman. But I can't say that she's going to be a minister because I'm going to be rushing into something that I can't do,” said Lula during an interview with Radio Mix de Manaus.

According to the candidate, the two have not yet talked about the topic because the senator does not want to “sit in the chair before winning the elections”. “If I try to put together the team now, I’ll make more enemies than friends,” said the PT member, during an interview with comedian Paulo Vieira.

The former president said that will have “many women” in his government, if elected for fourth ministerial term. Lula claimed to know a “hundred” of “wonderful women” who could occupy government positions.
