Bannon, Trump's mentor, is sentenced to 4 months in prison for contempt of Congress

Steve Bannon, former advisor to Donald Trump in the White House, was sentenced this Friday (21) to four months in prison for refusing to testify in a US Congressional investigation into the attack on the Capitol by supporters of the former Republican president, on January 6, 2021.

The sentence, which includes a $6.500 fine, was imposed by Judge Carl Nichols of Washington federal court.

In the judge's opinion, Bannon was in contempt of Congress by failing to comply with an order to testify in investigations investigating the invasion of the Capitol by Trump supporters, in which five people died, last year

The advisor and strategist for Donald Trump's campaign for the White House can and should appeal the sentence while free.

Upon arriving at court, this Friday morning (21), Bannon had his speech silenced by a group that called him a “traitor” in front of the place.
