The candidacy is part of a strategy to structure women's football in Brazil, which also aims to increase the number of championships, include more girls in the sport, create training facilities and protect measures for athletes during pregnancy.

A 2023 Women's World Cup will be played between July 20th and August 20th in Oceania, with games in Australia and New Zealand. In total, 32 teams will compete for the cup, and Brazil is one of them, seeking the unprecedented title.

The team led by the Swedish Sink Sundhage is part of Group F, alongside France, Jamaica and a team that will be defined in the repechage, and against which the team will debut in the World Cup on July 24th.
