Casemiro is the only Brazilian in L'Équipe's team of the year, which includes Mbappé and Messi

The traditional newspaper L'Équipe, from France, released this Saturday (24) its selection of the year 2022. Champions League champion, Real Madrid had the most representatives on the list, with four nominations, including Brazilian midfielder Casemiro , sole representative of the country. Paris Saint-Germain had two of their three chosen stars: Messi and Mbappé, with Neymar once again absent.

The choice of players was a mix of Champions League to Qatar World Cup. The goalkeeper Courtois, the midfielder Casemiro and striker Benzema started off with a great campaign with Real Madrid in winning their 14th trophy in the main European competition.

Finalists and highlights of the World Cup in Qatar, Messi e Mbappé, teammates from Paris Saint-Germain, were sung for what they did in the impressive campaigns of champions Argentina and runners-up, France, respectively. Frenchman Theo Hernández also received the recognition he deserved for his great World Cup in place of his brother Lucas, who was injured on his debut against Australia.
