“I am not exaggerating when I say that this is a historic event for Andalusia”, celebrated the regional president of this community, Juan Manuel Moreno.

During the press conference, Moreno announced that the biggest music awards ceremony in Spanish and Portuguese will be held in November, in the southern region of Spain (España).
Executive Director of the Latin Recording Academy, Manuel Abud states that “the Latin Grammys leaving the United States for the first time is a cause for special celebration, and nothing better than in Andalusia”.
The annual delivery of Latin Grammy, whose first edition was in 2000, is traditionally held in Las Vegas.

However, on some occasions, it has been celebrated in other cities in the United States with a large Latino population, such as Miami, New York or Houston.
Although the president of Andalusia stated that the host city for the awards ceremony has not yet been defined, the mayor of the Andalusian capital, Seville, seemed to anticipate that it could take place in the region.
Mayor Antonio Muñoz used Twitter to inform that “after two editions of the Goya award, the MTV Europe Music Awards, the great Dior fashion show, we show that Seville is prepared to host major international events (…) Next goal: the Latin Grammy ”.

Andalusia will invest around 18 million euros (US$19,1 million) to organize these events. However, Moreno highlights that they can generate up to 500 million euros (US$531 million) in total.
The Latin Grammys “is the most watched event on television in the United States among the Latin public” and is followed by millions of people around the world, which will give a boost to the “international projection of our Andalusia brand,” Moreno added.
