CNA recognizes Lula's victory; agribusiness supported Bolsonaro in the elections

The Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) recognized, in a note, the election of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to the Presidency of the Republic of the Country from 2023. A large part of agribusiness entrepreneurs supported the president's re-election Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The entity reiterated its support for democracy, which it considers to be one of the essential factors for the development of rural production.

“Faithful to this belief, it naturally welcomes the result of the presidential elections and is ready for dialogue and cooperation with the elected government, chosen by the majority of the Brazilian people”, says the note, signed by João Martins da Silva Junior, president of confederation.

The CNA highlighted the importance of the federal government providing legal security for rural producers by defending them from land invasions, confiscatory or destabilizing taxation, as well as excess regulation.

The entity says it hopes that President-elect Lula will carry out public management with fiscal balance and help expand the destinations for exports of agribusiness production.
