With Covid-19 high, São Paulo City Hall and State Government resume mandatory use of masks on public transport

The government of the state of São Paulo and the city hall of the capital of São Paulo announced this Thursday (24) the mandatory return of the use of masks on buses and the subway. The rule will be valid from this Saturday (26).

The City of São Paulo and the State Government decided to follow the technical analysis of the Management Council of the State Secretariat for Science, Research and Development in Health against the advancement of Covid-19 cases and resume the use of protection on a mandatory basis.

The decree with the new regulations will be published in the Official State Gazette this Friday (25).

The Government recommends that the measure be adopted by all municipalities in São Paulo and asks that everyone complete the vaccination cycle.

Actions on terminals from the capital of São Paulo

Last Monday (21) the City Hall began distributing masks in the city's 32 bus terminals.

The action, which takes place from 7 am to 10 am and aims to raise awareness among the population about precautions to prevent and combat the spread of coronavirus, will continue next week. To date, more than 350 masks have been distributed.
