How did Farofa da Gkay go from a birthday party to one of the biggest events in Brazil?

Brazilian team's game at the World Cup? What nothing! The topic that has stopped Brazil in recent days and never leaves people's mouths on social media is Gkay's Farofa. The event started on Monday (5) in Fortaleza, Ceará, and became a meeting point for artists, celebrities and digital influencers. But going beyond the fun, how did a simple birthday party become one of the biggest events in the country, truly worthy of a festival? O Curto News spoke to a digital content specialist to understand the phenomenon that is Farofa da Gkay.

“A gkay's farofa it gained a lot of strength, especially last year. More than 60 million people were impacted with stories and publications on the Instagram feed and posts on Twitter, both from guests, news outlets and Gkay itself. Being present at an event of this size reinforces the power of influence of the invited personalities and places these people in a place of relevance and exclusivity”, he analyzes Vanessa fields, journalist and digital content specialist.

In Vanessa's opinion, the Farofa it has become a showcase for brands and influencers – even causing controversy when someone is not invited, as is the case with Matheus Costa. The influencer commented on Twitter, a social network where he has more than 190 thousand followers, that he had not been invited to the Gkay event. The subject had repercussions and even the comedian took a stand.

This year, the gkay's farofa It had strong sponsors and support. The party even started before arriving in Fortaleza. Several guests, who left São Paulo, boarded a Latam plane chartered and booked exclusively for the event.

Among the artists who performed were Luísa Sonza, Pabllo Vittar, Pedro Sampaio and Wesley Safadão. The shows were fun not only for those present, but for the crowd at home as well. After all, Multishow is broadcasting the presentations live on TV. Worthy of a festival, right?

Being in Farofa da Gkay, whether as a brand or as an influencer, would be a form of “validation”?

“For part of the public, yes”, Vanessa responds. She explains that people understand that artists and influencers that are in Farofa are more relevant. “There are even fans who upload hashtags of support, if their favorite personality is not invited, as well as people, famous and anonymous, who try to get the hostess’s attention, Gkay, to earn an invitation. Among influencers, it’s an opportunity to show the versatility of work for brands, with diverse content production, focused on entertainment,” she says.

This edition of Farofa isn't even over yet, but social media shows that it's been a success. What can we expect from future editions?

The digital content specialist believes that an alternative is to make tickets available to the public, a way of enjoying the party alongside the influencers they follow and admire. But if this is just a prediction, one thing is fact: the event tends to grow more and more.

“Last year, several brands denied sponsorship for the event, according to the company itself. Gkay disclosed at the time. This year, after so much success, it attracted big players along with it, such as XP Investimentos, Latam, Avon and Vivara”, adds Vanessa.
