2022 World Cup: fans must present a negative covid-19 test, but will not need to prove vaccination

The covid-19 vaccine will not be mandatory for spectators of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, who must present a negative test upon arrival in the country, the government and the Supreme Organizing Committee announced this Thursday (29).

At the check-in counter at your departure airport, all visitors over the age of six must present a negative test result less than 48 hours from the time of departure if it is a PCR test and less than 24 hours from the time of departure if it is a PCR test. is an antigen test.

It will not be necessary to take another test upon arrival.

The use of a mask will be mandatory on public transport and in healthcare establishments.

Anyone who tests positive during the competition must isolate themselves for five days and then wear a mask for another five days.

Visitors over 18 must also download the Ehteraz tracking app, which is required to enter closed public places.

More information about the use of Ehteraz during the tournament, especially in the stadiums, “will be communicated in due course,” organizers told AFP.

They also specify that “emergency healthcare will be free in public hospitals for holders of the Hayya card”, which serves as a visa for Qatar and access to stadiums.

All private or public hospitals, medical centers, clinics and pharmacies in the country will be open to visitors.
