Culture and entertainment were the backdrop for some of the topics that trended most on social media this Thursday (28). Controversy? “It’s happening.”

O UCCONX frustrated the geek community with the famous “promeyours but didn’t fulfill it” and the failures added up crime reports about behind the scenes of the event (read the compiled thread here). In addition to this subject, which was trending this Thursday (28), a mass of internet users decided opine about the speech by actor Caio Castro.

The actor commented in a video that the feeling of “having to pay the bill” at restaurants when he meets a woman, as if he had to support her. The singer jojo toddynho encouraged women to understand that they have a lot of value and asked them to remove “Caios” from their lives.

UCCONX: what happened?

Less than 24 hours after an internet publication denounced the organization of UCCONX (Universal Creators Conference Experience) as a toxic work environment that denied labor rights to several employees (salaries, vacations) in 2021. The report is from a former employee hired by the festival organizer. Journalist Ygor Palopoli decided to follow the story in another thread on Twitter.

Negative reactions and memes about the festival went viral. BBL, currently responsible for the brand, said that it only acquired it in February 2022, a period after the alleged violations, and that it is therefore not related to UCCONX events. The fpop culture, nerd and gamer summer had launched itself as “the biggest” in this niche, but a large part of the public disagreed when they saw the event empty.

Last-minute cancellations of attractions such as actress Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Gerge Takei (Stark Trek) kicked off the flop, according to who bought (Land) or thought about buying a ticket.
