Spain is the first country in Europe to pass a 'menstrual leave' law

The Spanish Congress of Deputies definitively approved this Thursday (16) a law so that workers who suffer painful menstrual cycles can take "menstrual leave", a pioneering measure in Europe that seeks, according to the left-wing government, to break taboos.

“Today is a historic day of progress in feminist rights,” Equality Minister Irene Montero of Podemos, the radical left party that is a junior partner in the government coalition with the socialists, wrote on Twitter.
