Eto'o attacks YouTuber and video goes viral

A video showing former Cameroonian player Samuel Eto'o kneeing an Algerian YouTuber went viral this Tuesday (6) on social media. The images show the current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) and ambassador of the Qatar Cup hitting Sadouni SM, a YouTuber with 66 thousand followers, in the face.

Eto'o was surrounded by several people who were unable to restrain him despite their efforts. The scene took place on the outskirts of stadium 974, after Brazil's 4-1 victory over South Korea. Brazilian fans wearing Seleção shirts also appear around the chaos.

What's behind the Cameroonian's temper?

At the beginning of the video, which lasts 57 seconds, Eto'o took 'selfies' with fans before being approached by the 'youtuber', who clearly pronounces “Gassama! Gassama!”

He was referring to Gambian referee Bakary Gassama, who refereed the second leg of the playoff between Algeria and Cameroon (1-2), which sealed the 'Indomitable Lions' qualification for the World Cup in Qatar.

After the elimination, there were many rumors in Algeria that the referee had been bribed.

“I did all this for Algeria,” Sadouni SM explained this Tuesday in a video.

“I'm at the police station for the investigation. The video needs to be shared. As Eto'o is famous, I'm afraid that the case will be covered up, but I trust the Qatari police”, added the 'youtuber'.

Eto'o “broke my camera and my microphone, he hit me here (pointing to his chin)”, he explained, in an interview with AFP.
