Fluminense holds elections using electronic voting machines

They were contested and attacked by denialists from the Brazilian extreme right. But, precisely because they are safe and efficient, they will be used in a sporting election: the choice of president of Fluminense. Voting takes place this Saturday (26). Yes, the vote of members of the traditional football club in Rio de Janeiro will be done using electronic voting machines loaned by the Superior Electoral Court (TRE), in the same model used in the country's presidential elections. Check it out!

For Fluminense There was never any doubt: Electronic voting machines are safe and reliable. So reliable that they will be used by the club in the process of choosing the next president of the sports association, who will hold the position from 2023 to 2025.

And, in 2016, electronic voting machines were also used for the first time by Fluminense. At the time, the association's president, Peter Eduardo Siemsen, declared: “We will use the most secure electoral system in the country in the election. We thank TRE for their collaboration. It's a historic day for Fluminense. The member can be sure that the club is prepared and will guarantee the success of the greatest democratic moment in its history”.

And so it was. Therefore, once again, the ballot boxes created and inspected by the Electoral Court will be used to choose the club's new president.

Tenório heads the “Libertadores” ticket, whose vice-president is Wagner Victer, and number 40. Whoever wins will take office on Monday (28). Voting will take place from 9am to 18pm.

Twenty electronic voting machines provided by the Regional Electoral Court of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ) will be there waiting for members. 😉

Fluminense is one of the only teams to have this technology in the electoral process. Other traditional teams in Rio de Janeiro, such as Vasco and Flamengo, still use paper ballots as a voting method.
