It's about records: the 2022 Grammy nominations that stand out

Succession

A family that owns a popular media empire is the center of the script of this series produced by HBO, where its 4 seasons are available. Succession had 25 Emmy 2022 nominations, being the leader among the year's titles. The television show, which is in its third season for Best Drama Series, is alongside titles such as “Stranger Things” (Netflix), Better Call Saul (AMC), Ozark (Netflix), Round 6 (Netflix). Of the nominations, 14 are for the acting category, a record number of nominations for drama series in this category. The actors competing for “Best Actor in a Drama Series” are Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong.

Zendaya: young and cinema icon

The 26-year-old actress is the youngest to receive a second nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series, both for her performance in Euphoria. In 2020, she was the youngest winner of this title after success among the public and critics with the HBO production. Among the 2022 Grammy nominations, 16 are for Euphoria.

Zendaya is already established as an actress, but she also works as a producer and composer. As a black woman, she will be the first to be nominated for both her performance and songwriting, also for Euphoria.

In interviews after the award, Zendaya took a stand in favor of the Black Lives Matter Movement, defending young black people and taking greater care of the new generations. When discussing the series and her work, she also addressed topics such as substance use and the mental health of young people.

In 2021, she was also the youngest person ever awarded Fashion Icon by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), standing alongside the likes of David Bowie, Beyoncé and Rihanna.

Trevor Noah: recognized talent

In Brazil, his videos circulate on social media, but on American soil, television is the big stage for South African comedian and presenter Trevor Noah, 38. The sarcastic, firm tone and remarkable elegance that Trevor brings to his stand-up on the “Daily Show” has contributed to the program taking home more than twenty Emmys since 2015.

The show's award nominations also broke records since Trevor took over from John Stweart in September of the same year. His popularity on the small screen continues to grow: the @thedailyshow this time he was named seven nominations by the Television Academy, founder of the Emmy Awards.
