Lula says Bolsonaro should apologize to the Armed Forces; after visiting the transition office, Lula spoke of peace between institutions

President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) met with the transition cabinet, parliamentarians and the press, last Thursday (10), in Brasília. Lula once again spoke about political greatness, peace, respect and dialogue between powers. The PT member praised the conduct of the electoral process by Alexandre de Moraes and condemned Jair Bolsonaro's stance in relation to the "Armed Forces" demanding an audit report on the ballot boxes. "He has an obligation to come on television and apologize to Brazilian society and apologize to the Armed Forces," said Lula.

One day after the Ministry of Defense delivered a report on the elections to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) – which found no evidence of fraud – the president-elect spoke of humiliating the Armed Forces, which should be taking care of the country against external enemies.

“Yesterday [Wednesday] something humiliating, deplorable for our Armed Forces happened: a President of the Republic, who is the supreme head of the Armed Forces, did not have the right to involve the Armed Forces in creating a commission to investigate electronic voting machines , something that belongs to civil society, political parties and the national congress”, said the president-elect to parliamentarians”, said Lula.

“The result was humiliating, humiliating. I don't know if the president is sick, but he has an obligation to come on television and apologize to Brazilian society and apologize to the Armed Forces, for having used the Armed Forces, which is a serious institution, which is a guarantee for the Brazilian people against possible external enemies, was humiliated, presenting a report that says nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what he accused for so long”, he continued.

The day before, Lula was at the TSE and the Federal Supreme Court (STF), on his first institutional visit after his victory at the polls.
