When addressing the supporters who were waiting for him at Praça dos Três Poderes, the president began his speech by thanking the voters who fought “political violence” during the election campaign and said that he will govern for all Brazilians. 

“I will govern for the 215 million Brazilians, and not just for those who voted for me. I will govern for everyone, looking to our bright common future, and not through the rearview mirror of a past,” she said.

The public gathered at the Esplanada dos Ministérios watched performances by 60 artists on two large stages decorated with the colors of the Brazilian flag.
