Davi Miranda was elected the first councilor LGBTQIA+ in the history of the Rio de Janeiro Chamber and ended up in Brasília in 2019 after the resignation of the then re-elected deputy Jean Wyllys (Psol-RJ), who decided not to take office and leave the country as a result of the death threats he received.

According to the site Congress in Focus, David Miranda also received a police escort with authorization from the Chamber due to death threats. He left Psol in January 2022 because he disagreed with the party's approach to PT and gave up, in September, running for a new term due to the fragility of his health after hospitalization.
