No dancing: presidential candidates use TikTok to spread ideas

TikTok is the social network of the moment. In addition to sharing dance videos, the application has established itself as a political discussion channel increasingly explored by presidential candidates to spread their ideas. That said, it's time to check out what the main presidential candidates published this Thursday (28)

Simone Tebet (MDB)

With just under 5 followers, among the main presidential candidates, the senator has the lowest engagement on the social network. In a video with just seven likes, Tebet declares that he is “equally against Bolsonaro and Lula”. One of the reasons she cited is that both are avoiding the debate. “What candidates are these who put their personal and party priorities above those of the Brazilian people?” questionor.

The country is tired of this polarization that puts personal and party priorities above the needs of the people. Our candidacy will be in the second round so that Brazilians can choose the best program for Brazil. #SimoneTebet2022 #SimoneTebet #SimoneSim

Ciro Gomes (PDT)

Almost 200 followers follow the pedestrian on the app. Some of Ciro's videos follow a formula that many content creators use to go viral: current music plus controversial or funny talk about a certain subject.

In the video below, Ciro is questioned by journalist Andréia Sadi about continuing her candidacy in the elections. “I will win the election. Write down what I’m saying to you”, he replies.

In a video recorded during a conversation with supporters, Bolsonaro explains how during his government the Landless Movement (MST) lost relevance in rural areas. “We gave dignity, we titled land,” he commented. And he took the opportunity to state that in PT governments this was done less often.

Squid (PT)

The PT candidate's profile has almost 400 thousand followers. In a more recent post, Lula cites during his speech the case of a construction worker who graduated in medicine after entering college through Prouni (University for All Program).

@lulaoficial

Thanks to ProUni, José Paulo dos Santos graduated in medicine and became the first doctor in five generations of his family. Previously, he had been a bricklayer's assistant and a collector of recyclable materials. In Pernambuco, José Paulo was able to thank Lula personally.#squid #vamosjuntospelobrasil #medicine #Brazil #catador
