Not even the dismissal of General Heleno puts an end to Bolsonaro theories about the coup

Even with the departure of Jair Bolsonaro to the United States and the inauguration of the new President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a group of Bolsonarists still disseminate on the internet a conspiracy theory in which the retired general Augusto Heleno would be the true commander of the country in the next 6 months. His dismissal, published on Monday (2), went viral on the internet, which should bury coup hopes. But there are still debates on social media about whether the general will remain in office. The word "Heleno" was one of the most tweeted this Tuesday morning, on the subject of politics.

The dismissal of General Augusto Heleno, who headed the Institutional Security Office (GSI), was published in the Official Gazette of the Union on the first day of January 2023, signed on December 31st by the then acting president, Hamilton Mourão.

Still this Tuesday (3), hot debates are taking place on social media about the conspiracy theories of a small group of Bolsonarists and extremists about who is still “calling the shots” in charge of Brazil. Don't fall for it: IT'S FAKE!!

General Augusto Heleno, as well as other strong names from the former Bolsonaro government (Paulo Guedes, Luiz Ramos, Anderson Torres) no longer belong to the Brazilian government structure. Marco Edson Gonçalves Dias, Gdias is the new head of the GSI, and was sworn into office on Monday (2). (The globe)
