Nobel Prize in Economics goes to Americans Ben Bernanke, Douglas Diamond and Philip Dybvig

Three Americans, including former Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, won the Nobel Prize in Economics on Monday (10) for their contributions to explaining the role of banks in the economy.

Ben Bernanke, Douglas Diamond and Philip Dybvig were honored for having “significantly improved our understanding of the role of banks in the economy, particularly during financial crises, as well as how to regulate financial markets,” the jury said.
