The Virgínia Fonseca phenomenon: find out how much she profited from launching a new internet base

There is no denying that influencer Virgínia Fonseca is a success. The owner of We Pink decided to invest in the launch of a dermocosmetic foundation and, in the first few hours, revenue reached more than one million reais. Even with so many sales, there was no shortage of criticism on social media.

The base value is R$199, much higher than products from competitors (other influencers) in the Brazilian market. But this was not an obstacle to a sales boom:

8 hours after the product launch, the We Pink earned R$1,5 million.

There were around 15 units sold per minute; i.e, the company earned R$187 thousand per hour, R$3100 per minute and R$52 per second.

Virgínia announced the launch of the foundation on Instagram and, in the comments, some followers made comparisons with the prices of products from Boca Rosa and Bruna Tavares, who are influencers who also have their own makeup lines:

In addition to Virgínia, businesswoman Samara, from the 'Pink Lash' eyelash extension franchise, is also the owner of the company.

The blogger responded to criticism in her Instagram stories and began responding to provocations about feeling at the level of Kylie Jenner and Rihanna. “Why can they and I can’t? There is no such thing”, he said.

Furthermore, Virgínia made it clear that her brand's base has the same quality as international bases.

“If I can do it, I’ll do it! Or do you think that making an imported product is cheap? (…) If WePink didn’t have this high quality standard, you can be sure that in less than two years we wouldn’t have built even a quarter of what we built.”
